Letter to Mitch McConnell #3

 Senator McConnell:

When a man makes a promise, he is honor bound to keep it.  When you became the Senate Majority Leader you promised to bring the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act to the floor for a vote and to pass it.  Now’s your chance.  The House has done its part, and now it’s up to you.  Senator McConnell, this bill will save about 20,000 innocent children every year, and every day we allow the barbaric practice of dismemberment abortion to continue, hundreds more will die.

Empty promises and inaction seem to be the modus operandi in Washington these days.  Passing the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act is too important to be treated as business as usual with backroom deals and lobbyists calling in favors.  President Obama has signaled his intention to veto this bill if it makes it to his desk.  Make him veto it.  Make him explain to the American public why he thinks the slaughter of pain-capable babies should be legal in the greatest country on earth.

Senator McConnell, over 1 million unborn children are killed in America’s abortion mills every year.  Some people may think that the 20,000 children this bill will save every year is just a drop in the bucket.  I contend that every life is priceless and that every chance to save even 1 life must be pursued to its fullest.

Sir, this is where the rubber meets the road.  You made a promise and now it’s time to keep it.  You can pass a bill that will save thousands of children or you can look the other way and hope that no one is watching.  Whatever you choose to do, the killing won’t stop until men and women of good will do what it takes to stop it.  Passing the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act is just 1 step, but a very important step, towards ending abortion.

Time is of the essence.  Pain-capable children are being killed every day by dismemberment abortion, and will continue to be killed until you and your colleagues take action.  Getting this bill to the President’s desk and overriding his promised veto will be a daunting effort.  Nobody said it would be easy.  Nothing this important ever is.  If you and your colleagues aren’t up to the task, have the intellectual honesty to say so, and I’ll find another way.

Senator McConnell, America is watching and innocent children are being killed by the thousands.  What will you do?

Letter to Mitch McConnell #2

Senator Mitch McConnell

317 Russell Senate Office Building

 January 6, 2015

  Senator McConnell:

Last November I asked you to bring the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act up for a vote as soon as you assumed the role of Majority Leader in the Senate.  Your predecessor blocked this bill for over a year and a half so President Obama wouldn’t have to veto a bill designed to save pain-capable babies from indescribably painful deaths.  He chose politics over the lives of innocent children.  What will you do?

Senator, there is no downside to standing up for life.  There will be no political price to pay for banning abortions of unborn children who can feel the pain of being killed.  The new Senate has plenty of work to do, but nothing more important than passing this bill.  Stand up for life and make President Obama explain to the American people why he approves of killing pain-capable babies by the thousands.

America has a lot of problems right now, and most of them can be traced back to how we treat the most vulnerable among us.  Sir, our unborn children don’t have a voice and don’t have a vote.  What they do have is the gift of life; the very same gift of life that you and I were granted by our Creator.  We are honor bound to protect each other and morally bound to protect our unborn children.  The American people soundly rejected the policies of the most abortion-friendly President in history last November.  They sent a message to you and every other elected official that business as usual will no longer be tolerated.

Senator, you have the votes in the Senate to pass the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.  Your colleagues in the House passed it in June of 2013.  All it will take from you is the courage to allow an up or down vote in the Senate. There is no logical reason for delaying a vote on this bill.  There is no logical reason for President Obama to veto it.  There is no logical reason to not pass this bill even if the President does veto it.

You and your colleagues serve at the pleasure of your constituents.  Most Americans oppose abortion and an overwhelming majority opposes abortion beyond 20 weeks.   Common sense would seem to dictate that you and every other elected official serve the best interests of the ones that put you in office.  Common sense would seem to dictate that if you see innocent children being killed and have the power to stop it, you do just that.

Senator, bottom line; every day this bill is not acted upon, innocent children die horrible, senseless deaths.  Pass the bill, override the President’s veto, and stand up for America’s unborn children.

Letter to Mitch McConnell #1

Senator Mitch McConnell

  November 7, 2014

 Senator McConnell:

As the presumptive Majority Leader of the United States Senate, you have a lot of work to do.  You have to undo 6 years of incompetent, corrupt leadership by Harry Reid and President Obama.  Important legislation that your predecessor would not allow to be voted upon must be brought to the Senate and allowed to have an up or down vote.  The Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act cleared the House nearly a year and a half ago and has yet to be brought up for a vote in the Senate.

Senator, I respectfully request that your first act as Senate Majority Leader be the introduction of the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act for consideration by the full Senate.  Nothing you do on your first day as Majority Leader could be more important than allowing a vote on a bill designed to save thousands of innocent children from suffering horribly painful deaths every year.  Every member of the Senate knows that killing innocent children is wrong.  Make them take a public stand for or against allowing pain-capable unborn children to be legally killed in America.

Planned Parenthood and America’s abortion industry have lobbied and will continue to lobby heavily against the passage of this bill.  Killing children is how they make money and they will stop at nothing to deal with anything that threatens their bottom line.  President Obama has promised to veto it if it comes to his desk.  Passing the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act and overriding the President’s veto won’t be easy; few things in life worth doing are.

Last Tuesday Americans sent a clear message to you and your colleagues that business as usual has worn out its welcome.  The majority of the Senate is now pro-life.  You have the power to end the grisly practice of late-term abortion.  America will be watching to see if you and your caucus have the will and the courage of conviction to do right by the most innocent among us, our unborn children.

Senator McConnell, if men and women of honor and integrity know of an evil practice and do nothing to stop it, they offer their tacit endorsement of it.  Not taking action on the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act would be tantamount to signing the death warrants for over 20,000 American children every year.   I urge you to pass the bill, override the President’s veto, and to stand proudly on the side of life.
