Senator Davis:

Isn’t it funny how the glare of public scrutiny can make people say the damndest things?  Just a few months ago you were the new darling of the pro-abortion crowd and fighting to allow 20 week old babies to be killed.  You were sitting on top of Planned Parenthood’s ‘A List’ and reveling in your new found fame.  Fast forward to the present; you’re running for your party’s nomination for Governor of Texas, a strongly pro-life state, and all of a sudden you say you are pro-life.  Forgive me if I don’t believe you.

Senator Davis, your filibuster of H.B. 2, and everything it stands for, cannot be justified as the actions of an individual on the pro-life side of the abortion debate.  If you truly are pro-life, give back all the campaign contributions from Planned Parenthood and the rest of America’s abortion industry, and refuse additional contributions and support from them.  Refute their claims that abortion doesn’t take a human life.  Ask them why they feel they should be able to kill pain-capable babies and why their abortion facilities should not be held to the same medical standards as any other surgical facility.  Ask your friends at Planned Parenthood why they would rather close clinics in Texas than comply with the medical standards H.B. 2 requires for their facilities and the doctors performing abortions at them.  If they are truly concerned about women’s health don’t you think they would want to be held to a high standard?

Senator Davis, just in case you haven’t figured it out yet, when you tied your allegiance to the abortion industry you made a deal with the Devil. Once you jumped on board the pro-abortion bandwagon the blood of all the dead children in Texas was on your hands.  Senator, I can’t see into your heart and I can’t tell if you have moved to the pro-life side, or if you are just saying what you think you need to say to have a chance of holding a higher office in a pro-life state.  If your statement that you are pro-life was sincere, welcome to our side.

If you’ve had a change of heart, prove it.  Work to close the doors of Planned Parenthood and every abortion mill in America.  Speak out against the killing of America’s unborn children.  Use your time in the spotlight to return America to a time when all unborn children are welcomed as the gifts they are.  Use your platform to expose the ugly truth about America’s abortion mills and peel back the veil of secrecy they ply their deadly trade behind.

Senator Davis, until you prove otherwise, I’m not going to say you lied when you said you were pro-life but, in the words of Winston Churchill, you spoke in “terminological inexactitude.”  Prove me wrong and I’ll happily stand shoulder to shoulder with you in the fight for our children’s lives.

As always, my letters to you are published on my pro-life blog at www.prolifepoppop.com.  Write back and I’ll publish it, inedited.

Senator Davis:

Looks like you’ve got some work to do.  You and your new besties at Planned Parenthood were unsuccessful at overturning the ban on abortions past 20 weeks in Texas.  As a matter of fact, you didn’t even challenge the 20 week threshold because even you know this would be a losing fight.  You were successful, however, at overturning the requirement that doctors at abortion clinics have admitting privileges at hospitals within 30 minutes of an abortion clinic.  We can’t have doctors following up on botched abortions that place the mother’s life at risk can we?  Your efforts also resulted in the easing of restrictions on killing babies with toxic chemicals like RU 486.  Well done Senator Davis.  Your kids must be so proud.  What kid wouldn’t be proud of their mother for fighting to keep the killing of unborn babies legal?

Senator Davis, you’re scraping the bottom of the barrel when you tie your allegiance to the likes of Planned Parenthood and the ACLU while fighting for the right to kill more babies. You’re also condemning more mothers as well as babies to death when you fight to lower the medical standards that abortionists must meet in order to be allowed to kill unborn children.  This begs the question:  Just who are you trying to protect?  Babies will still be dying; mothers will have a greater chance of dying; so who wins here?

Senator Davis, Planned Parenthood is in it for the money.  The ACLU is in it to promote a leftist agenda.  What’s your excuse; fame, higher political office, a death wish for the children of Texas, or something even more sinister?  The majority of the citizens of Texas are against what you are doing.  They love their kids and have a deep respect for the right for every child to be allowed to be born.

Like it or not Senator Davis, as the light of truth shines on abortion, the death knell of abortion is ringing.  Planned Parenthood and America’s abortion mills are considered pariahs by most of our society.  They kill our children with barbaric procedures and utilize useful idiots like you to promote their culture of death.  They claim to be looking out for women’s reproductive health and fighting against a war on women while over the half the babies they kill are little girls.

Senator Davis, running for Governor of Texas on the backs of your state’s dead children is a losing proposition.  Claiming, as you did, that you were unaware of the procedures employed to perform a partial birth abortion, flies in the face of logic. Thinking that you can be elected Governor of a state that prides itself on independence and personal freedom does the same.

Senator Davis:

So now it’s official; you’re running for Governor of Texas.  As I noted in my previous letters to you, none of which you have answered, all you have to run on is your extreme pro-abortion stance.  Senator, in Texas “that dog don’t hunt.” Try as you might, you can’t spin a filibuster to allow late term babies to be killed on demand into the Governorship of a great state like Texas.  You’ll have the Planned Parenthood goons in your corner with their grab bag of dirty tricks and disgusting campaign tactics, but that’s about it.

Senator, just before I wrote this letter I fed my 7 week old grandson.  He’s napping peacefully now within arm’s reach of me as his perfect body processes the nourishing meal he finished 20 minutes ago.  He is growing and living as nature intended, just like every baby that was killed today was meant to do; just as their Creator intended.  Senator Davis, advocating to allow innocent children to be killed on demand is a losing strategy for a political campaign, and for a society that allows it.  Your friends at Planned Parenthood don’t kill hundreds of thousands of innocent children every year for any socially or morally redeeming cause; they do it for the money, plain and simple.  They will use you as long as you promote their agenda and then you’ll be discarded, just like they did to all the mutilated bodies of every innocent child they killed today; after they collected their fee.

Senator Davis, today is my son’s 27th birthday.  My goal is that his children will be born into a world where abortion is nothing but a painful memory of our past.  Our nation has allowed far too many of its future leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs to die a grisly death for the sake of convenience and as sacrifices to a culture of death that feeds on the bodies of our dead children and its disregard for the sanctity of every human life.

Texas is the model for how America can end the slaughter of its unborn children and leaders like Governor Perry have shown that it can be done.  All we need are honorable leaders with the courage to do what they know is right and a society willing to embrace, once again, the Founding principles that made America great.  Unfortunately for you, you’re not that person.

Senator, you recently said the following: “With the right kind of leadership, the great state of Texas will keep its sacred promise that where you started has nothing to do with how far you can go.” You forgot to mention that this only applies if you are allowed to be born.  An unintentional oversight I’m sure.

Senator Davis:

Congratulations on your decision to run for Governor of the great state of Texas.  I look forward to seeing you try to gracefully step over the bodies of Texas’s dead children in your quest for the Governorship.  I’m also looking forward to seeing how you structure your campaign around repealing a bill designed to prevent the elective killing of pain-capable babies over 20 weeks old.  I hope for your sake that your campaign budget can cover the cost of the left’s best spin-meisters, because you’re going to need them.

Senator, some friendly advice; when you find yourself in a hole, stop digging. You’re on the losing side of the abortion debate in Texas and trying to parlay your pink-sneakered filibuster against H.B. 2 into a successful run for Governor ain’t gonna happen.  Just in case your campaign staff hasn’t told you, most Texans are against killing unborn children, especially unborn, pain-capable children over 20 weeks old.

Senator Davis, I’m trying to understand the mindset of abortion advocates like you.  You are obviously an intelligent woman.  Don’t you understand that an unborn child is a living human being?  Assigning an age to an unborn child, such as 20 weeks old, indicates that the child has been alive for 20 weeks.  Even for a nerd like me, this isn’t a difficult concept to grasp.  Ultrasound imaging clearly shows the beating heart of an unborn child just a few short weeks after conception.  If a beating heart isn’t incontrovertible evidence of life, what is?

Don’t get me wrong; I want you to run for Governor.  The epic failure of a pro-abortion candidate running for Governor in one of the biggest states in the country will do wonders for the pro-life movement.  It will focus the abortion debate on your untenable position that you have no problem with killing unborn children on demand, even if they can feel the indescribable agony of being killed.  It will also focus attention on the sleazy organizations like Planned Parenthood and NARAL that support you.  Senator Davis, when you make a deal with the devil it will always, in the end, destroy you.

Planned Parenthood had their paid protestors lined up to hurl urine and feces at legislators during the fight to pass H.B. 2.  Will they be employing the same tactics on your behalf against your opponent in the Governor’s race?  They also used children displaying vulgar and blasphemous signs in your fight to continue killing babies over 20 weeks old.  Looks like all the makings of a really classy campaign.

Senator Davis, protecting the lives of our children is serious business and, based on your track record, you are definitely not the one for this job in Texas.  Bow out gracefully like other politicians do.  Say you want to spend more time with your family and your children; the children you allowed to be born.
