4 Years Later

Anyone that knows me, knows that my life revolves around my 2 grandsons. Time spent with them is the most valuable commodity I can think of. When I wrote this piece in February of 2015, my oldest grandson had just celebrated his 4th birthday. I find it amazing that both my grandsons didn’t exist a few short years ago, and now that they are here, the world will never be the same.
In less than 3 weeks, America has a choice to make. Do we choose for President a woman who is the abortion industry’s best friend, or a man who believes in the sanctity of life and wants to overturn Roe v Wade? Its an easy choice for me; as it should be for everyone who was allowed to be born.

Last week we celebrated my oldest grandson’s 4th birthday.  I find it miraculous that a little over 4 years ago he didn’t exist, and now I can’t imagine life without him.  That’s what life is; a miracle.  Out of nothingness comes a new life, and the world changes every time another heart begins to beat.  I’m fascinated by the animating life force that makes our hearts beat, allows virtually every cell in our bodies to die and be replaced every few months, and even makes our hair turn gray; all with no conscious effort on our part.  I’m intrigued that this life force can’t be created by man even though we can destroy it.

I accept the gift of life I was given as an opportunity to use my time on earth to find my purpose and to exercise my free will to pursue it.  My children and grandsons remind…

Letter to President Obama #108

When I started this blog, my intention was to write a letter to President Obama every day until I received a cogent, well thought out response. After receiving dozens of form letters from the White House, generated by keyword recognition software, topped off with auto signed signatures, I decided to branch out. I still like to keep in touch, letting the President know how disappointed I am with his policies on abortion and the utter incompetence of his leadership. When I wrote the following letter in October of last year, I was particularly frustrated that every time he comes out to bemoan gun ownership in America, he ends the speech by saying that he has to push gun control laws, even if it only saves one child. This, from a man who supports abortion and actively promotes it. President Obama is a miserable failure and a legend in his own mind. I can’t wait until he is shown the exit from the people’s house. I only hope that Hillary isn’t walking in as he is walking out. As with all my letters to the President, I copy Planned Parenthood, since they are both joined at the hip.

Washington, D.C.  20500

Attn:    President Barack Obama

October 3, 2015

Mr. President:

Every time a mass killing involving a firearm takes place in America you trot to the podium, fire up your teleprompter, and proceed to lecture the country on the liberal mantra of taking guns out of the hands of law-abiding people.  Even an utterly inept leader like you has to know that an insane lunatic hell-bent on killing as many people as possible will find a way to do it; gun or no gun.  Mr. President, institutions that advertise that they are gun-free zones are inviting any idiot, who may be so inclined, to come in and start shooting, because no one will be returning fire.

Sir, for the last time, gun control laws are only obeyed by law-abiding citizens.  Taking guns from law-abiding citizens tilts the balance in favor of…

I wrote the following piece in September of 2015. On the day I wrote it, the Senate had just killed the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Child Protection Act; a bill designed to save unborn children who had developed to the point that they could feel the agony of being torn to shreds by an abortionist. Any sane, moral person would support this bill. Hillary Clinton is against it.
The House, Senate, and White House are full of gutless cowards, more concerned with getting reelected than saving children. In about 3 weeks we get to decide if we want business as usual to continue. A vote for Hillary will say you don’t have a problem with corruption and lawlessness. It will say you don’t have a problem electing a President who supports abortion right up to the moment of birth.
Being gutless and being a coward is easy. Having the courage of conviction to do what you know is right, regardless of the consequences, is hard, but worth it. In the end, we will all be held to account for the choices we made during our life. I choose to protect the unborn, and I’ll gladly accept the consequences of my actions.

Our elected officials on both sides of the aisle are gutless.  Politics and staying in office are more important to them than the sanctity of human life.  They would rather continue to funnel $500 million a year to Planned Parenthood than force the President to veto defunding legislation.  Same goes for the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. Our elected leaders agree to hold “show votes” that they know will go nowhere so they can go home and tell their constituents that they tried.  Trying doesn’t cut it.  Doing is the only way to get anything done.

Some things in life are worth fighting for and worth risking everything for.  If we can’t count on our elected leaders to fight for the lives of innocent children, we need new elected leaders.  I’ll vote for anyone of any party who pledges to fight for the right to life of the unborn and…

Priorities #2

In September of 2014 I wrote the following piece, #2 in a series of 3 posts titled Priorities. With all the chaos in the world, and the gravity of the upcoming Presidential election on my mind, priorities seem more important to me than ever. Presidents will come and go, and life will go on. It will go on for those of us fortunate enough to have been born. This year, in the greatest country on earth, over a million unborn children will be killed by an abortion industry that thrives on a liberal mindset that promotes a no consequences society. Most of us are good people who choose to live our lives with a belief that someone else will stand up to evil. I felt the same way for much of my life.
As I approach my 63rd year, my number one priority is to leave my grandsons a world where children are not killed as a matter of convenience. If Hillary Clinton gets the Presidency I’ll just work a little harder. Every new life deserves its chance to leave its mark on the world. I intend to make the most of mine on their behalf.

What’s the most important thing in your life; your home, your money, your job, being liked, being famous?  How many of these things will you take with you at the end of your life?  Do you want to make the world a better place or do you want to leave the heavy lifting to others while you pursue happiness with material things?  I live in a nice neighborhood, my wife drives a Mercedes, and I’ve spent a large part of my life in pursuit of the trappings of material success.  More and more every day I realize that happiness is found in the simple things, and comes from giving, not taking.

These days my happiness comes from the laughter of my grandsons.  I measure anything I consider beautiful against the indescribably beautiful sight of watching a hungry child eat.  A big weekend for me is one that I spend with…

We Get the Leaders We Deserve

When I wrote this piece a little over a year ago, I was looking forward to the end of the second term of the worst President in the history of our country. If we elect Hillary Clinton as our 45th President, we deserve everything that slithers in the door with her. Hillary Clinton is a disgusting human being who is willing to do anything to become President. She supports abortion right up to the moment of birth, and left a trail of dead Americans in her wake during her tenure as Secretary of State. The grisly abortion procedures that the reigning “worst President in history” endorses are also endorsed by Hillary. Before you vote, remember that the consequences of your vote are on you. While we deserve the leaders we get, the millions of unborn children who will die if we make the wrong choice, simply deserve a chance to live.

As an Illinois State Senator, then State Senator Barack Obama voted multiple times against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act.  The Born Alive Infant Protection Act was a bill that required medical professionals to provide life-saving medical care to babies who survived botched abortions.  In his opposition to this bill, Senator Obama mused that recognizing babies as persons would entitle them to the 14th Amendment protections under our Constitution.  He went on to state that passage of this bill would end legal abortion and render Roe v Wade mute.

The standard practice in most abortion clinics when a baby survives the procedure meant to kill it is to place the baby in a surgical tray, place the tray in a supply closet or isolated area, and wait for the crying to stop, or to put it bluntly; wait for the baby to die.  The greatest country on earth voted twice…

When I wrote this piece in July of 2014, I was struggling with the decision as to when to retire, so I can spend every day working on behalf of the pro-life movement. I know at some point in my life I’ll make the move, and it continues to be a daily struggle for me. With it becoming more likely every day that the most abortion-friendly President in history will be replaced by a woman who is totally in the tank for the abortion industry, I feel a sense of urgency in getting my message out.
I know that my humble blog, and the letters I write to politicians and abortion providers, are brushed off by them as minor annoyances. I don’t care. I’ll stay at it as long as they continue to kill children for money. It’s the right thing to do, and I know in my heart that it’s a mission I was given by my Creator. To my friends who believe that every child has a God given right to life; I would ask that you share my words, or your own words, to spread the pro-life message.

Last Friday, Independence Day, I had planned on taking the day off.  Unfortunately, the rigors of running a one man office and my plans for a day off didn’t work out.  Maybe next year.  The work I do on my own time on behalf of the pro-life movement really isn’t work to me.  The only challenge my pro-life work presents is the question of when will I finally take the leap of faith I know I need to take in order to work at it full time.  Subtle signs and hints are constantly entering my life, nudging me towards where I know I need to be.

Sitting in my office on July 4th, while I crunched numbers and stressed about multiple projects, I looked out the window and saw cars full of people enjoying their day.  This struck me as one of the more than subtle signs that maybe I…

Words fascinate me, and I find it amazing how both sides of an issue try to paint their position in the most favorable light with nothing but words. For years now, I’ve been trying to convince anyone who would listen that abortion is an abomination that has to stop. I’ve stated my case in countless words, and I will continue to do so until I no longer can. In the following piece, written in March of 2015, I tried to convey how words can describe similar events, with the intention of eliciting different reactions.
In my humble opinion, the killing of an innocent human being through terrorism or abortion still results in the same outcome. An innocent human being is dead. It makes no difference to me or its victims what the procedure used to kill them is called. When a society devolves to the point that it kills over a million of its children every year, it is in deep trouble. We’re in deep trouble.

A bloodthirsty terrorist and a money-grubbing abortionist; what’s the difference?  A terrorist kills innocent human beings in the name of an insane ideology.  The abortion industry kills innocent human beings in the name of an insane ideology. Terrorists kill their victims by torture, beheading, and worse.  In a typical partial-birth abortion the abortionist delivers a full-term living baby, feet first, face down.  The fully viable baby is completely removed from the mother’s body with the exception of the top couple inches of its head.  At that point the abortionist shoves forceps into the base of the baby’s skull to create an opening. A vacuum device is then inserted into the opening and the baby’s brain is suctioned from its skull.  The now dead child is pulled the remaining inch or two from its mother’s body and then unceremoniously disposed of.

Whether or not you equate abortion with terrorism, the end…
