When it comes to politics, there’s little, if anything, I agree with Joe Biden on.  Having said that, I’m impressed with Joe as a family man.  The dignity and class he has shown, with the recent passing of his son Beau, is inspiring.  No parent should ever have to bury their child, and Joe has had to do it twice.  I watched yesterday as he comforted his daughter-in-law and grandchildren and saw a man placing the needs of others over his own.  At times like this it is only right that we place our differences aside and stand together in support and love for a man who has had more than his share of tragedy and loss.

Mr. Vice-President, we will continue to remain on opposite sides politically and ideologically, but I will forever respect you for your grace in the face of adversity.  May God’s blessings be with you and your family and may you take comfort in the fact that your beloved Beau will suffer no more in the Kingdom of Heaven.
