Letter to President Trump #1

The White House

1600 Pennsylvania Ave.  NW

Washington, DC  20500

Attn:    President Donald J. Trump

February 4, 2017

Mr. President:

As a matter of full disclosure, you were not my first choice for President.  Quite frankly, when you announced you were running, I thought it was nothing more than a publicity stunt.  After my first two choices dropped out, I started to take a harder look at you.  What I saw was eye-opening.  Here was a billionaire with a beautiful wife, a great family, homes and golf courses all over the world, and a private jet ready to fly him anywhere at any time.  You didn’t need this.  Why would you open yourself to be ridiculed, threatened, and second-guessed if you weren’t truly committed to making America great again?

Mr. President, I’m proud to have voted for you and will apologize to no one for doing so.  I voted for a man who promised what he would do if he was elected; and two weeks into your administration, you are keeping your promises.  No President in my lifetime has moved more quickly to right the wrongs of the previous administration and to implement the changes he promised.

Although I’m not a single issue voter, as a pro-life advocate, I would never vote for a candidate who supports abortion.  Sir, you promised to defund Planned Parenthood and to work to repeal Roe v Wade.  I’m encouraged that you have already defunded Planned Parenthood’s foreign operations and made the Hyde Amendment permanent.  Now it’s time to stop sending over $500 million to Planned Parenthood’s US operations every year.

Mr. President, 3,000 innocent babies are killed every day in America’s abortion mills.  Planned Parenthood kills another child every 90 seconds.  The greatest country on earth should not be subsidizing the killing of its unborn children.  I know you have a lot on your plate, but nothing is more important than protecting the most vulnerable among us.  I respectfully request that you expedite the defunding of Planned Parenthood and the repeal of Roe v Wade.

All my letters are published on my pro-life blog at http://www.prolifepoppop.com.   Should you choose to write back, I’ll publish your reply, unedited.
