Values

We’re defined by our values and by how we treat the weakest among us.  Millions of unborn children are killed worldwide every year, and we wonder why we see violence around every corner.  We entertain ourselves by watching people kill each other on TV and in movies and become desensitized to violent death.  Our nonchalance over killing our fellow man has allowed organizations like Planned Parenthood to flourish.  We buy into the argument that a woman has the right to choose to have her child killed.  We even help pay for it by sending hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to the abortion mills that kill them.

We’ve been convinced that our actions don’t come with consequences and that instant gratification is the easy way out.  In today’s world, many new lives are seen as simple inconveniences;  problems that can be “taken care of” at your local Planned Parenthood clinic.  As human beings we are hard-wired to protect one another.  We see someone in danger and we rush to help them.  In times of disaster we don’t stop and ask ourselves what religion, race, or gender the victims are; we just know we have to help them.  Call it social engineering, a dumbed-down education system, or just plain brainwashing; whatever you call it, all the above are tugging at the fabric of our humanity.  We blindly join in protests against perceived acts of injustice that most of us know little or nothing about, and choose to do nothing as thousands of our children are killed daily.

For far too many of us values are something you find at the local market, not a standard of conduct and ethical behavior we choose to live by.  As our values deteriorate so does the quality of our lives.  We make conscious choices to ignore universally respected principles of human behavior and act surprised when we see the results of our choices.  We riot and burn down a town when an aggressive felon is killed while committing a crime, and bask in the afterglow of our injustice as athletes and celebrities cluelessly acknowledge our actions.  We feel good, thinking we have taken action for a just cause, totally unaware of our abject ignorance.

Our President unilaterally decides to normalize relations with a communist dictatorship and everyone in his camp thinks he’s done a good thing.  They ignore the fact that this dictatorship murdered every property owner in the country when they assumed power and confiscated all property.  They ignore the fact that the ruling regime still resorts to torture and imprisonment for anyone defying their authority.  Our country’s leader is willing to ignore our founding values for nothing more than a photo op and a pat on the back.  His attitude is indicative of a large number of his constituents.  Values have been set aside in exchange for votes, money, and virtually everything else of no real value.

As this year comes to an end, we all have an opportunity to reassess our values.  We have a chance to look within and to see what’s really important.  Our gift of free will is a heavy responsibility and must be seen for what it is; a choice to do good works or bad, and to realize the fruits of our choices.  When we take this responsibility lightly we end up with inept leaders and a country that kills its unborn children by the millions. Our values are inviolable and can’t be tweaked to accommodate societal whims.  We compromise our values at our own peril and we display our values with every action we take.

 Ms. Richards:

Just when I thought I’d seen it all, out comes Planned Parenthood tweeting #BlackLivesMatter.  This comes from an organization that has murdered millions of black children since 1973.  Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger, had as her primary goal, the extermination of the black race.  She referred to blacks as “human weeds.”

Here are a few more facts that I’m sure you know, but many of my readers may not be aware of.  The number one cause of death for black people in America is abortion.  75% of Planned Parenthood’s clinics are within walking distance of minority neighborhoods.  64% of all the babies killed in America’s abortion mills are black or ethnic minorities.  Blacks represent about 14% of the U.S. population.  Had Planned Parenthood never opened its doors, blacks would represent about 36% of our population.  In New York City during calendar year 2012, 31,300 black children were aborted and 21,700 were allowed to be born.

Ms. Richards, black lives do matter.  Every black child is just as priceless as every other child.  Every black child deserves the opportunity to be born and to make the most of its life; the same opportunity you and I were given.   To your credit, Planned Parenthood no longer discriminates when it comes to killing children.  You’ll kill any child of any race as long as you get paid.

America’s first black President is Planned Parenthood’s most vocal cheerleader.  The woman hoping to be America’s first female President was a recipient of the Margaret Sanger Award.  In her acceptance speech she referred to Margaret Sanger as “a great visionary.”  Ms. Richards, I have zero tolerance for hypocrites and the clueless political class that worships at the altar of America’s abortion industry.  You and they will say and do anything to keep the abortion industry flush with cash and overflowing with the bodies of dead babies.

Ms. Richards, every life matters, be it black, white, or whatever.  Since this letter will never make it to your desk, I can only hope that the person in your office who drew the short straw and has to read letters from people like me, will take a few moments to think about the people who sign his or her paycheck.  I hope they ask themselves if they want to make a living working for the largest child killing organization in the world.  I hope they will reflect on the fact that every 26 seconds, as they read this letter, another unborn child will die at the hands of America’s abortion industry.

As always, my letters to you are published on my pro-life blog at www.prolifepoppop.com.  Write back and I’ll publish it, unedited.

My Best Friend #2

As I write this on a Sunday afternoon, my best friend, my grandson, is sleeping just feet away.  My daughter dropped him off this morning so he could play outside with Pop Pop.  We ran until we could run no more, we cut a tree down together, and then we shared a lunch of pizza and apples.  Five years ago I never would have imagined that my first grandson, yet to be born, would end up being the best friend I have ever had.  He is my inspiration to work for the pro-life movement, and every minute I get to spend with him and his little brother reminds me of how miraculous every human life is.

Over 3,000 of his peers will die tomorrow in America’s abortion mills.  They are the friends he will never meet and the innocent victims of a society that chooses the path of least resistance over the sanctity of every human life.  Since he was born nearly 4 years ago, about 4 million unborn children have been denied their Right to life in America.  When we exercise our free will to end a human life before it can even be born, we accept the consequences of our actions.  My belief is that we can’t begin to comprehend the consequences of allowing tens of millions of our innocent children to be killed by Planned Parenthood and America’s abortion industry over the last 40 years.  I also believe that anyone aware of the thousands of abortions performed every day and not working to end the killing, is offering their endorsement of the practice.

I’m sure that my best friend will become the best friend of countless others over what I hope is a long and happy life.  I hope to still be around when his children are welcomed to the world and I hope to instill the values in him that I try to live my life by.  Everyone needs a best friend, and every child that dies today in an abortion clinic was destined to be someone’s best friend.  Neither of my grandsons are guaranteed to be happy or successful, but they will both have the chance to make the most of the gift of life they were given.  That’s all any of us can hope for; an opportunity to do good works during the time we’ve been given.

I’m haunted by visions of the seemingly endless stream of dead babies churned out every day by the abortion industry, and I’m committed to leaving my grandsons a world that no longer allows its unborn children to be killed.  I refuse to do nothing as Planned Parenthood and its cronies peddle their industry of death, while they make billions from the pain and suffering of innocent children.

Your best friend should be someone you can always count on, no matter what.  My best friend will always be able to count on me to do everything in my power to protect him and every other child.  That’s what friends do.

Moral Equivalence

I’ve heard a lot of talk lately about moral equivalence.  When Israel retaliated against Hamas, after enduring a barrage of thousands of rockets, our President asked both sides to show restraint.  How much restraint would America show if Mexico or Canada were lobbing hundreds of rockets across our border every day?  When ISIS began its murderous rampage across the Middle East our President called for a measured response.  Equivocating civilized behavior with that of brutal terrorists erroneously identifies barbarians as equals with the very ones they seek to kill.

The false narrative of moral equivalency put forth by our elected leaders has emboldened the ones wishing to do us harm and conveyed a sense of legitimacy to their cause.  The terrorists of the world see our leaders and our country as weak and unwilling to defend those who can’t defend themselves.  They look at a country that kills over a million of its unborn children every year and see the same nation demanding that the rest of the world respect the human rights of their citizens.  Mixed messages and moral inconsistency embolden the evildoers of the world to do more evil.

Moral equivalency in America allows a business like Planned Parenthood to openly advertise its business of killing children for money as they operate their abortion mills in neighborhood shopping centers.  Our President consults with race hustlers like Al Sharpton and treats them like anything but the publicity hungry parasites they are.  Charlatans and mass murderers are treated like sages and respectable businesses in the name of political correctness and everyone smiles and tries to act like they don’t see the hypocrisy in the comparison.

We pass laws making it illegal to intentionally kill another human being.  We pass laws making it legal to kill an unborn child at the mother’s request.  We pass laws making it illegal to stand within 35 feet of an abortion clinic’s door and asking the women going inside to not kill their babies.  We pass laws allowing anyone to freely speak in public, without fear of retribution, as long as they don’t make a woman feel bad about having her baby killed.  Our society implies a moral equivalency between the businesses that kill children for money and those who work to end the killing.

Our nation and the world are treading on the proverbial slippery slope when we fail to acknowledge the difference between the good guys and the bad guys.  When thugs torch their own town in the name of street justice we need to call them out as the thugs they are.  When terrorists kill innocent people and the abortion industry kills innocent children there can be no moral equivalence conferred between them and those of us who believe that their is no higher calling than protecting innocent life.

The evildoers of the word are counting on the complacency of the masses.  They know that most of the evil in the world is sanctioned by government.  They promote their agendas on the backs of those among us not willing to take action, and know their undoing is sealed when they are denied the legitimacy of moral equivalency.

 Ms. Richards:

I’m curious.  What is your position on immigration reform?  Ostensibly, immigration reform will allow families living in America illegally to begin the path towards citizenship.  They’ll be having more kids, and that begs the question: do you see this as an opportunity for Planned Parenthood to kill as many of them as possible?  Your organization has already killed millions of American children, so one could logically presume that you will be looking at this strictly by the numbers, so to speak.

The Hispanic community traditionally leans pro-life, so in a perverse sequence of karmic justice, immigration reform may contribute to your eventual undoing.  Wouldn’t that be a kick in the pants?  The most abortion-friendly President in history unilaterally grants amnesty to millions of illegals, and they end up being the ones who put you out of business.

As I wrote to the President yesterday, Liberalism always results in the exact opposite of its stated intent.  Your promotion of a no-consequences society, where innocent children are killed as a matter of convenience, is another flawed liberal concept.   The liberal viewpoint that personal responsibility should not include protecting innocent children, has resulted in the deaths of over 57 million children since 1973.  Instant gratification and the no-consequences society that you work so hard to promote has resulted in Planned Parenthood becoming the biggest baby killing business in the world.

There are far worse things going on in America than poor folks from Mexico coming across the border in search of a better life for their families.  It’s not their fault that we don’t enforce our own laws or that we elect a community organizer as President who has never managed as much as a lemon aide stand.  We choose to enforce laws that allow our unborn children to be killed by the millions while we seem to let anybody come across our border, whether it’s someone looking for a better life or someone looking to end millions of ours.

As a nation, we’ve lost our moral compass.  We’ve allowed bottom-feeders like you to re-brand the act of killing an innocent child for money as women’s reproductive health care.  Political correctness has devolved to the point that we call the terrorist attack on Fort Polk workplace violence.  And we’re on the verge of completing negotiations with Iran that the whole world knows will lead to them developing nuclear weapons.  I honestly wonder on most days if anyone in Washington is looking out for America.

If we institute reasonable immigration reform, with the first step being securing our border, it will work.  I will support immigration reform legislation if it includes a rider to defund Planned Parenthood.  If immigration reform creates new citizens determined to end the practice of abortion, count me in.

 Ms. Richards:

For the past year and a half I’ve been writing letters to you and your friends in the abortion industry.  So far you haven’t as much as acknowledged receipt of even one of them, much less replied.  I can’t say I expected any more from the head of the world’s largest child killing organization.  Even though Planned Parenthood receives over $500 million a year from the American taxpayers, why should you feel obligated to open a dialogue with the millions of us who want to shut you down?

Since I wrote my first letter to you, Planned Parenthood has killed about 500,000 unborn children in America; but you already know this.  As a matter of fact, you award bonuses to Planned Parenthood abortion clinics that exceed their goal of dead children for the year.  I have to wonder how much of that bonus money comes out of my paycheck.  I also have to wonder what an organization that kills children for money wouldn’t do for money.  As paid killers, where do you draw the line for ethical behavior, since ethical behavior is nowhere to be found within your organization?

Does it ever cross your mind that, as the public face of a business that kills another child every minute and a half, you are the living, breathing spokesperson for evil?  When you check your bank account balance do you realize that every penny you have was paid for with the blood of a dead child?  Do you believe that any of the more than 300,000 children Planned Parenthood will kill this year deserve a chance to be born, just like you and I?

Ms. Richards, in spite of our differences, I believe that if you encountered someone you didn’t know in a life-threatening situation you would do anything you could to help them.  Why won’t you do the same for the innocent children entering your abortion clinics?  They’ve harmed no one and are simply trying to live.  At the end of your life all the money you’ve earned in the child killing business will not buy you one more minute, or temper the judgment you will surely face.

We are born alone and die alone, and we all are held to account for everything we do in the interim.  Based on your actions to date, you’ll have a lot to answer for.  In closing, may I ask that you reflect on your life’s work to date, and ask yourself if it has all been worth it?

Letter to President Obama #98

The White House

1600 Pennsylvania Ave. NW

Washington, D.C.  20500

Attn:    President Barack Obama

 November 8, 2014

 Mr. President:

BS and big words will only take you so far.  At some point you have to actually do something of substance.  You recently said that every one of your policies were on the ballot this year.  You were right.  And last Tuesday every single one of them was repudiated by me and my fellow Americans.  You came into office promising hope and change, and now after 6 years of incompetent leadership and failed policies, we are all just hoping for change.

I’m ashamed to be living under the leadership of the most abortion-friendly President in history.  During the first 6 years of your Presidency over 7 million unborn children have been killed by Planned Parenthood, the world’s largest killer of children, and their colleagues in America’s abortion industry.  Not only have you done nothing to stop the killing, you have actively promoted Planned Parenthood’s agenda.  You have even gone so far as to say “God bless Planned Parenthood.”  I don’t want to speak for God, but I don’t think He is throwing out a whole lot of blessings to an organization that kills hundreds of thousands of innocent children every year.

Mr. President, during the first 6 years of your Presidency the American taxpayers have unwillingly shelled out over $3 billion to Planned Parenthood.  How many hungry children could have been fed with the $3 billion Planned Parenthood used to kill them?  While the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act sat on Harry Reid’s desk for the last year and a half over 1.5 million unborn children died in America’s abortion mills.  Something is terribly wrong in America when the Senate Majority Leader is forced to sit on a bill designed to save pain-capable babies from agonizing death by dismemberment just so the President won’t have to explain why he vetoed it.

I’ve asked Harry Reid to allow a vote on the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act several times, and he has done nothing.  I’ve asked Mitch McConnell to do the same when he assumes Leadership.  I’m confident that the Senate, under Mitch McConnell, will pass this bill and send it to you for your signature.  You can then explain to the American people why you don’t feel compelled to prevent over 20,000 pain-capable unborn children from being brutally killed every year by your friends in the abortion industry.

Mr. President, even you know that killing children as a matter of convenience, and for a fee is wrong.  Allowing the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act to become law will be a small, but critically important step towards ending abortion in America.  Do the right thing and sign this bill into law.

The White House

Washington, D.C.  20500

Attn:    President Barack Obama

 September 29, 2014

 Mr. President:

While the American taxpayers are spending millions to bomb ISIS, we are also spending millions to protect the assorted thugs, dictators, and despots currently assembled at the U.N.  And while we spend millions to protect the tyrants of the world we are spending hundreds of millions of dollars every year to assist Planned Parenthood in the killing of our unborn children.

I have a suggestion; actually a couple of suggestions.  Tell the U.N. to get out of town and don’t come back.  Tell them to stick their diplomatic immunity where the sun doesn’t shine and to pay all their outstanding parking tickets or face arrest.  Tell them to hold their annual anti-America, anti-Israel lie fest somewhere else.  And while you’re at it, let them know that they will not be getting one more dollar from America.

When you finish with the U.N. get Planned Parenthood’s Cecile Richards on the phone and let her know that the U.S. taxpayers will no longer be funding her industry of death.  Tell her that if her organization wants to kill over 300,000 unborn children every year they’ll have to do it without the help of unwilling contributors like me.  Let her know that if Planned Parenthood can’t make it without our money, maybe they should think about doing something else for a living.

Mr. President, I’m under no delusion that the Narcissist in Chief would dare to insult his friends in the U.N. or the abortion industry, but a guy can dream can’t he?  Think about it.  If we sever all ties with the U.N. and the abortion industry we can save billions of dollars every year.  Instead of paying to have innocent children killed and paying to support rogue nations we can spend our money to feed hungry kids and to insure that every unborn child’s Right to life is honored.

Mr. President, the billions of dollars we waste every year represent the total lifetime earnings of millions of my fellow Americans.  Do you seriously think that any American wants to work his or her entire life to fund the latest government boondoggle or to pay an evil organization that kills our children by the thousands every day?  Most of my fellow Americans want the same thing.  They want to go to work, take care of their family, and live in peace.  Nobody goes to work every day hoping they can make enough money to pay for a couple more abortions by Planned Parenthood.

Mr. President; snap out of it!  You can’t phone in the last 2 years of your Presidency.  We all know right from wrong and we all know what to do.  Let’s stipulate that you’ve royally screwed up the first nearly 6 years of your Presidency and move on.  You still have time to institute change that we actually can believe in.  Step up, do the right things, and you’ll be amazed.

As always, my letters to you are published on my pro-life blog at www.prolifepoppop.com.  Write back and I’ll publish it, unedited.

 Ms. Richards:

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell came out last week and said he “got it wrong” with his recent disciplinary debacle over acts of domestic violence by his players.  I’ll give credit where credit is due.  He manned up, admitted he screwed up, and pledged to make it right moving forward.  We’ll see where it goes, but at least he is making an effort to do what we all know is right.  Ms. Richards, if only you and your colleagues in America’s abortion industry could do the same.

The civilized world knows in its heart that killing unborn children as a matter of convenience is wrong.  As the leader of the world’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, you are the public face of infanticide for hire.  One can reasonably assume that you are a marginally intelligent woman. You have to know that you are paid in blood money.  The industry that pays your salary and the industry that you aggressively promote will kill over a million unborn children this year.

The egregious behavior by many NFL stars has cast a spotlight, and rightly so, on the problem of domestic violence.  The lethal behavior that goes on daily in your clinics is hardly noticed.  Over 3,000 children die every day in America’s abortion mills.  If domestic violence caused over 3,000 deaths every day in America do you think it would be an even bigger news story?

Domestic violence is the flavor of the week for the news media.  In a short time they’ll move on to something else.  When will the daily killing of thousands of children get the same attention?  Our society gravitates towards the trendy topic of the moment while paying little or no attention to the true evil that your organization represents.  While Planned Parenthood is busy killing our children, many in our increasingly clueless nation occupy themselves with banal reality TV shows and keeping up with the Kardashians.  They don’t have time for the truly important things in life; things like watching an innocent child sleep or fighting to allow every unborn child to be born.

Ms. Richards, if you’re not working to solve the problem, you’re part of the problem.  Planned Parenthood is definitely part of the problem.  Not only will you kill over 300,000 children this year; you’ll lobby to be allowed to kill even more.  While most of my fellow Americans remain ambivalent towards the intentional killing of over a million innocent children this year, you’re organization will continue to kill them at a rate of 1 every 94 seconds.  Your industry, as a whole, will kill more than 2 unborn children every minute of every hour of every day.

I refuse to let the slaughter of my grandsons’ future friends and playmates continue unchallenged.  I will continue to fight, until I no longer can, to end the killing.  Your cooperation by immediately closing your doors would be greatly appreciated.

Grandparent’s Day 2014

Without a doubt, the greatest joy in my life is being the grandparent of 2 wonderful grandsons.  My oldest grandson has had some significant challenges over the past year, and watching him struggle and overcome these challenges has been an inspiration.  My youngest grandson, born 5 weeks early, experienced and overcame his own set of challenges, spending 11 days in NICU while his tiny lungs developed to the point that he could finally go home.  Both my grandsons remind me of the fragility of human life and how quickly the things we take for granted can change.  They remind me that every life is precious and provide me the inspiration to fight for every unborn child’s Right to life.

Being a grandparent is everything I had hoped it would be and more.  I treasure the time I’m able to spend running through the grass and playing with my 3 year old.  My 1 year old is taking his first steps, and watching the look of sheer joy on his face as he teeters toward my outstretched arms is heartwarming.  I want every grandparent to experience the joy of spending time with their grandchildren.

Unfortunately, every year in America over a million opportunities to become a grandparent are denied by Planned Parenthood and our nation’s abortion industry.  They kill thousands of children every day and foster a culture of death instead of one of nurturing.  The very same people who kill children daily for money go home to their own children and grandchildren every night.  Those of us who were allowed to be born should not be deciding who gets to live and who must die.

Last night, after a fun day of running and playing, I embraced my 3 year old grandson as he lay his head on my shoulder and fell asleep.  Knowing that he fell asleep in my arms, knowing that his Pop Pop loves him beyond all measure means everything to me.  As I carried him up the stairs to his room I knew I was carrying one of God’s priceless creations and was overcome with gratitude for the privilege of having him in my life.  I tucked him safety into his bed, looking forward to all the fun days we have ahead of us, knowing that none of them are guaranteed and that all of them must be treasured.

Grandparent’s Day should be more than just a date on the calendar.  It should be a reminder to all parents and grandparents of the sacred obligation we have been entrusted with; the care and protection of our children and grandchildren.  This obligation doesn’t begin at birth.  It begins at conception.  We have a duty as the patriarchs and matriarchs of our families to instill a respect and reverence for the sanctity of every life, at every stage of life into our children and grandchildren.   Happy Grandparent’s Day!
