Letter to President Obama #88

 Mr. President:

The world is becoming more unstable every day.  Today a passenger jet is shot down over Ukraine, Israel is at war, and our Dept. of Defense is handing out pink slips to our military heroes as they fight for our way of life in Afghanistan.  Unaccompanied children are flooding across our border after being encouraged to do so by your administration.  And, of course, while all this is going down you’re attending 2 fundraisers.

The world expresses outrage today over the 295 innocent people killed on the downed Malaysian airliner.  Tens of thousands of innocent children were killed today in the world’s abortion mills and no time is spent on the evening news reporting the carnage.  Dead babies don’t generate headlines unless they are killed after they are born.  Planned Parenthood and America’s abortion mills killed over 3,000 children today and my tax dollars were used to pay the killers.

America is FUBAR (look it up) and you don’t seem to give a damn.  As a matter of fact, a lot of what’s wrong with the country I love seems to have been intentionally made so by you and those of your political persuasion.  Your side fosters a culture of death where nearly 1 out of 3 unborn children in America meets an untimely death at the hands of an abortionist.  Your side panders to Planned Parenthood and works to stifle legislation designed to make it harder to operate a business that kills babies for money.

You characterize allowing unborn children to be born, as nature intended, as a war on women.  You repeat ad nauseam that abortion should be safe, rare, and legal; knowing all the while that it is neither safe nor rare, nor should be legal.  Mr. President, when you are able to take a break from fundraising, may I suggest that you reexamine your priorities?

America is in dire need of principled leadership.  We need to return to our founding principles where the Right to life was priority number one.  We need to return to a time when we can trust our elected officials and feel secure that they are looking out for our best interests.  Mr. President, nothing you have done during your tenure as President has been for the good of America, especially its children.  As much as I would like to believe that the mess you have made is simply a result of you being utterly incompetent, it’s becoming more and more obvious that you know exactly what you’re doing.

With all due respect, you are of no concern to me.  I care about our children and I care about protecting them from the moment of conception.  You’ll be nothing but a bad memory soon enough.  The fruits of your zealotry will take a bit longer to put behind us.

As always, my letters to you are published on my pro-life blog at www.prolifepoppop.com.  Write back and I’ll publish it, unedited.

July 15, 2014

On the evening of July 17 last year I punched in for another night of writing letters in pursuit of my goal of ending abortion.  At the time, Harry Reid was signaling that he was considering allowing a vote on The Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.  Since then he has changed his mind.  I was still on track last July to write one letter a day to the President on behalf of the pro-life movement.  Not long after this letter, I decided to branch out and write to all the key players in the ongoing slaughter of the world’s children.

Most of the ideas for my letters come from my perspective as a father and grandfather.  I think about the emptiness in my life had my children and grandchildren never been born, and the words come pouring out.  I was frustrated with the President when I wrote the following letter.  For a man who has shown nothing but contempt for the Constitution, he chooses to hide behind it with his flailing attempts to justify his opposition to a bill designed to save the lives of innocent children.

Since I wrote this letter, States have passed dozens of bills restricting abortion.  We are winning the battles and my hope is that the war will be won in the near future.

Mr. President:

The letters I am writing to you and members of the abortion industry are inspired by the love I feel for my 2 year old grandson.  As parents and grandparents we are entrusted with the sacred duty to care for and protect our children and grandchildren.  Sir, this duty applies to our unborn children and grandchildren too.

Last night my daughter purchased a flotation device and water wings for my grandson in preparation for a pool party he is attending this weekend.  She didn’t do this while thinking about a sacred trust or moral obligation of any sort. She did it out of love for her child and her desire to make sure he is safe.  Mr. President, the natural instinct to love and protect our children is in all of us.  Unfortunately, you, the pro-abortion crowd, and abortion mills such as Planned Parenthood have suppressed this instinct in favor of political expediency and money.

Mr. President, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, of all people, has signaled that he may be receptive to allowing a vote on the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.  Getting this bill through a left-leaning, pro-abortion Senate will be a very heavy lift unless you weigh in on the side of life.  You recently said you would veto this bill if it passed because “it shows contempt for women’s’ health and rights, the role doctors play in their patients’ health care decisions, and the Constitution.”  Sir, with all due respect, this has to be one the most asinine and incomprehensible statements you have ever made; and trust me, the list to choose from is quite long.

Where to begin?  How does a bill designed to protect fully developed babies from a horrific death and women from unsafe medical procedures show contempt for women’s health and rights?  How does the requirement that doctors performing abortions have admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles of the abortion clinic show contempt for women’s health?  How does protecting the lives of unborn babies and their mothers show contempt for the Constitution?

Since I’m batting a thousand on not getting replies to my letters I won’t hold my breath waiting for your reply to this one.  Hopefully, your interns or some low level staffer charged with reading your mail will see something in one of my letters that moves them to the pro-life side of the aisle.

In the words of Dante, “There’s a special place in hell for those who in times of moral crisis choose to do nothing.”  Mr. President, when comes to protecting our Nation’s unborn children, you have chosen to do nothing.

 Mr. President:

As much as you want to deny it, the current immigration crisis on our southern border was manufactured by your administration.  You put the word out in Central America that if unaccompanied children could make it across the U.S. border, they could stay.  The fact that this would subject tens of thousands of children to rape, abuse, and even death was of no consequence to you.  All you wanted to do was overwhelm our Border Patrol and try to pressure Congress into passing your fatally flawed immigration reform policy.

In your sick mind, human suffering and death are merely collateral damage if it helps promote your naïve, amateurish policies.  As I’ve previously written, you said exactly what you were going to do to America back in 2008.  You made it very clear that your plan was to “fundamentally change America.”  As America’s first ‘American Idol’ President, you’ve shown the world that an uninformed electorate will fall for just about anything as long as it is presented by a slick talker, even if the slick talker has never managed anything even as complicated as a front yard lemonade stand.

This same modus operandi is used by Planned Parenthood and the rest of your friends in America’s abortion industry.  Instead of saying they kill children for money; they call it women’s reproductive health care, a woman’s right to choose, and abortion care.  They propagate the myth of safe abortions when everybody knows that every abortion is performed with the expressed intent of killing a living human being every time.

Mr. President, those who support and endorse Planned Parenthood and America’s abortion industry are just as guilty as the killers themselves.  Politicians like you who put thousands of desperate children in harm’s way just to promote a political agenda are just as guilty as the coyotes and drug dealers their families pay to get them to our border.  The human suffering and death going on at our southern border is on you.

While thousands of unaccompanied children stream across our border every day, thousands of unborn children are dying every day in our abortion mills.  While we set up Welcome Centers and provide medical care and food for the children coming across our border, no such welcome is given to the over 3,000 babies killed every day on this side of our border.

Mr. President, your willingness to spend billions of dollars to care for these children you lured across the border under false pretences, while you spend hundreds of millions to allow our own to be killed, speaks volumes.   As a citizen of the greatest country on earth, I’m ashamed of my President and most of the 535 members of Congress who swore an oath to preserve and protect the values we hold dear.  We can do better.  We must do better.

 Mr. President:

For a country that’s broke, we sure waste a lot of money.  $540 million a year to Planned Parenthood, and over $400 million a year to the Palestinian Authority, controlled largely by Hamas, a brutal terrorist organization dedicated to the destruction of Israel. So, just to be clear, your administration thinks the appropriate use of my tax dollars is to pay Planned Parenthood to kill innocent children and to fund terrorists so they can kill the citizens of Israel.

Mr. President, my focus is on saving the world’s unborn children and then protecting them after they’re born.  I work hard at my day job and I don’t want any part in paying for missiles that Hamas lobs into Israel or funding the world’s biggest abortion mill.  If you ask most Americans, I think they will agree with me.

Sir, we are being invaded at our southern border.  Your response, like everything else; throw money at it.  You request $3.7 billion to care for illegal aliens while you spend hundreds of millions of dollars to allow American children to be killed.  I understand why people want to come to America but we can’t just open the gates and let everybody in.  Like any other civilized nation, America has to enforce an orderly process for legal immigration.  The laws are on the books.  All you have to do is enforce them.

Mr. President, you, Nancy Pelosi, and all the other left-wing bleeding hearts say it’s all about the children when the subject of the mass border breach by thousands of Central American children is brought up.  Yet, you say nothing as thousands of American babies are killed every day.  The children streaming across our border are being encouraged to do so by your administration.  They are being exploited in a brazen political maneuver by you to bypass Congress on immigration reform.  They are entering our country illegally and being welcomed with open arms.

The thousands of American children killed today in America’s abortion mills are all here legally and are being executed for the simple act of trying to be born.  Israeli children in the path of Hamas rockets are in danger of being killed by weapons unwillingly paid for by me and my fellow Americans.  Mr. President, our children are our most priceless gift and Israel is one of our closest allies.  We have a moral obligation to protect our children and no less a duty to our allies.

Here’s a suggestion.  Do your job.  Thank you for your continuing inattention to my concerns and those of my fellow Americans.

Mr. President:

Yesterday I had the distinct privilege of attending a function in honor of our wounded warriors.  These brave men and women gave their all for America, and all the honors and gratitude we direct towards them will never be enough.  The sacrifices they made for us were for all of us.  They didn’t give everything so thousands of innocent American children could be killed every day.

America’s military heroes willingly give their lives to protect the Rights far too many of us take for granted; the most important of which is the Right to life.  Every unborn child is granted this Right at the moment of conception and must depend entirely on the good will and respect for life of others to be able to exercise this Right.

Mr. President, our country dishonors our military heroes’ sacrifices every time we allow another abortion to be performed.  When an American soldier makes the ultimate sacrifice for his or her country, he or she doesn’t pick or choose which group of Americans they are dying for.  They don’t give everything to protect a woman’s right to have her baby killed.

Mr. President, small town America gets it.  The entire town turns out for events like the one I attended yesterday.  Children are welcomed at these events and treasured as the gifts from God that they are.  If you had asked anyone at yesterday’s event if they thought we should be able to have our unborn children killed on demand, I think you know what the answer would have been.

America needs to return to the small town values that made us great.  What you don’t see at events such as the one I attended yesterday are organizations like Planned Parenthood hawking their services and touting their industry of death as an all American staple.  They’re quick to take advantage of the freedoms our heroes fought for, but conspicuously absent when we gather to honor them.

Mr. President, you are the Commander in Chief of the greatest military the world has ever known.   These men and women, who all happen to be volunteers, will follow any lawful order you give and complete any mission they are assigned.  They perform their duties daily with honor and integrity and don’t question the motives of their President, even if he happens to be an utterly inept amateur like you.

Mr. President, when it comes to honor and integrity, you and your friends on the pro-abortion side don’t measure up.  When it comes to traditional American values, you are clueless.  When we gather to honor our heroes, everyone is welcome.  You and your friends in the abortion industry won’t be there, and I’m ok with that.

 Mr. President:

In true Saul Alinsky fashion, your administration is overloading the ‘system.’  When one crisis begins to get traction, another pops up, and as the left leaning media plays wackamole with all of them, nothing ultimately gets done.  That’s the progressive game plan and you’re executing it flawlessly.  Your agenda: collapse the economy, collapse the healthcare system, dishonor our veterans, swing the gates open at our borders, bow to our enemies, betray our allies, and allow our unborn children to be legally killed.

Mr. President, your latest manufactured crisis is at our southern border.  Unaccompanied children are streaming across the border from Central America and, true to form; you claim you never saw it coming.  One has to wonder, if you never saw it coming why did your administration advertise on January 29 of this year for transportation venders to transport 65,000 children from the border to various Office of Refuge Affairs Centers?  The truth is your administration put the word out in Central America that if children could make it across the border, they could stay in America.  The drug cartels are stepping in and charging thousands of dollars each to get these children to our border.

Why are you doing it?  Who knows?  Maybe you’re trying to develop a future voting base.  Most likely you want to use them as the anchor to draw their families here so you can get an immediate boost in Democrat voters.  Whatever your motivation is, you are needlessly putting thousands of children at risk, enriching the drug cartels, and assisting in the violation of our Sovereignty.

Mr. President, I not only have zero tolerance for killing our unborn children; I also have zero tolerance for putting innocent children in harm’s way just to serve a political agenda.  We have enough problems already, thanks to you.  We don’t need to import more.

As I’ve written on numerous occasions, most of the damage you’ve done can be undone once you are shown the door.  Unfortunately, undoing a manufactured humanitarian crisis could take a generation.   Mr. President, as a pro-life blogger, most of my letters to you and those of your ilk are written as part of my advocacy for the pro-life movement.  On occasions like this I sometimes feel the need to step back and point out the bone-headed stupidity of your increasingly radical tenure as our President.

I’ll be back on the job tomorrow fighting for every innocent life that you’ve made a conscious choice to ignore. Sir, life is the most powerful yet fragile force in the Universe, and I will fight until my dying breath to insure that every new life gets its opportunity to change the world.

 Mr. President:

Today was one of those days where I felt overworked, overstressed, and underappreciated.  All I wanted to do was go home, workout, and relax.  I wanted to take a break from the commitment I had made to myself and God that I would do something every day to end the practice of abortion, but I’m honor-bound to keep up the fight, and I will.  The way I see it, every day is a good day to remind the worst President in my lifetime that every new life is priceless and to also point out that the world is watching while you destroy its last best hope.  So, here goes.

I’m incredulous that the most tech savvy administration in history is presiding over an IRS that claims it irretrievably lost thousands of emails directly linked to the ever-growing IRS corruption scandal.  Like most arguably sane Americans, I don’t believe a word of it.  Your administration has established a track record of misdirection, deceit, and outright lies.  Who could expect any less from a President who’s in bed with Planned Parenthood and America’s abortion industry?

Mr. President, I truly believe that God has a sense of humor.  From day 1, your political aspirations have been based on a non-existent resume and an utter lack of moral conviction.  You’ve presided over the decline of the greatest country on earth, while doing nothing as over 7 million unborn children were legally killed during your 6 years in office.  Now, it’s all crashing down around you.  Guess who set all this in motion.

Mr. President, America will regain its moral compass.  We will stop the slaughter of our unborn children, and we will return to the values and principles that made us great.  We will undo all the wrong you have done and we’ll regain our stature in the world.

Sir, the same IRS that grants Planned Parenthood tax-exempt status would go after me in a minute if I underpaid by one dollar.  If they can’t keep track of their own emails, how do you expect them to oversee ObamaCare?  Why not take the $500 million we send to Planned Parenthood every year and use it to upgrade the IRS’s email servers?

Mr. President, or whoever happens to read my letters to you, get it together.  Like everything else you do, think about yourself.  If you continue to let our country slide into obscurity, by the time you hit the rubber chicken speech circuit in a couple years, nobody will be able to afford your fee.  How about instituting massive change for good?  Defund Planned Parenthood, stand up for life, and stand up for America’s children.

 Mr. President:

It’s good to know that your administration is focusing on the truly important things.  As you know, and probably had a hand in, the United States Patent and Trademark Office cancelled the Washington Redskins trademark registration today.  If this ruling stands up, the wussification of America will be complete.  Apparently, in America today, all it takes is a handful of people to claim that something offends them and the government moves mountains and ignores the majority in order to accommodate the minority.

Mr. President, it seems to me that everyone is clamoring to be offended by something these days.  I’m offended by people being offended by something as inconsequential as the name of a football team.  I’m of Irish descent and I’m not the least bit offended by Notre Dame calling its football team the Fighting Irish.  I’m not even bothered that some people see the Fighting Irish as symbolic of those of us of Irish descent getting drunk and fighting.

I take offense at the truly important things, like the legal killing of our unborn children.  Mr. President, along with me, millions of my fellow Americans are offended by Planned Parenthood and its colleagues in our nation’s abortion industry being allowed to kill children for money.  What are you going to do about it?

Don’t get me wrong; I’m not a Redskins fan, but I will stand with them in fighting against a government doing its best to make us all look like a bunch of pansies.  Mr. President your liberal utopian vision of “everybody gets a gold star, no one’s feelings can be hurt, and the government will take care of all your needs” is destroying our way of life.  While your friend, Harry Reid, has time to speak about something as utterly unimportant as the Redskins trademark on the Senate floor, he still refuses to allow a vote on the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.

Mr. President, at the risk of offending you, I’m offended by living under the most corrupt and inept President in my lifetime.  I’m offended by you endorsing Planned Parenthood and America’s abortion industry.  I’m offended by your administration sending my tax dollars to Planned Parenthood against my wishes and moral convictions.  I’m offended by your administration being too inept to understand that the enemies of America are laughing as we self-destruct right before their eyes.

Mr. President, focus.  Who cares that a below average football team is named the Redskins?  Keep your eye on the ball and join me in the fight for the lives of our unborn children.  Do your job and stand up for the most important Right of them all; the Right to life.

June 16, 2014

As I begin another week of fighting for the lives of our unborn children, I’m reminded of a letter I wrote to President Obama in September of last year.  I deal with numbers in my occupation and I deal with numbers in my mission to end abortion.  If I screw up my day job, my company loses money and I could lose my job.  If I fail at my night job, thousands of innocent children will continue to die every day.  I don’t lose sleep over my day job, but I lie awake at night wondering how I can do a better job serving the world’s unborn children.

I feel a connection to the world’s unborn children and feel compelled to stop the senseless killing of them.  If this means I’m seen as crazy in the eyes of some, so be it.  The following letter, written on Sept. 18 of last year, is one in a long series of letters to the worst President in my lifetime.

 Mr. President:

As part of my job I work with numbers all day; some really big numbers. At night, after I’ve finished working at my day job, the job that pays my bills, I punch-in for my night job; working to end abortion.  Unfortunately, I work with some really big numbers on my night job too; 56,000,000 babies killed since 1973, 3,300 killed every day, 1 killed every 26 seconds.  Mr. President, these numbers haunt me, and should horrify anyone who sees them.  Every one of these numbers represents a dead child; a child that was killed because now wasn’t the right time to have a baby, or because it had Down syndrome, or because the young mother didn’t want to disappoint her parents, or a myriad other choices that all required an unborn child to be killed.

Mr. President, my night job, an unpaid position, is the most rewarding job I’ve ever had.  I don’t have to worry about a budget or meeting a payroll.  I don’t have to deal with disgruntled employees or pinheads from the IRS.  Most people working 2 jobs dread checking in for the night shift.  I think about my night job all day and can’t wait to get started every night.  My night job is a labor of love and the only result I will accept is the sound of doors locking for the last time at Planned Parenthood and every abortion mill in America.

Mr. President, I take it personally every time another child dies at the hands of an abortionist.  I feel that I failed to protect every child that died today.  I’m committed to saving every child scheduled to die tomorrow, and tomorrow I’ll check in committed to save the ones scheduled to die the following day. Sir, every unborn child killed today was a member of my family and yours. Every frightened, confused mother entering an abortion clinic is intrinsically bound to you and me.

Mr. President, although I love my night job, I dream of the last night I’ll ever have to do it. I dream of a world that welcomes every new child as the gift that every one is.  I dream of the day I can relax and read a book instead of writing letters to you and the pro-abortion crowd.  And I dream of a world where the only mention of abortion is in a history book detailing liberalism’s last 100 years of failed policies.

The 3,300 American children who were killed today died in a country where the value of a human life has been set at the price an abortion mill will charge to kill a human being. Most of them died as a simple matter of convenience and were seen as an unwanted problem, not a living human being.

Tomorrow America’s abortion mills will open for business and the killing will continue.  Tomorrow night I’ll clock-in, more determined than ever to end the killing.

Mr. President, my letters to you are published on my pro-life blog at www.prolifepoppop.com.  Reply to one of them and I’ll publish it, unedited.

I’ve been writing a lot lately about the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.  In a perfect world I wouldn’t have to write about something like this.  In a perfect world it wouldn’t be legal to have your unborn child killed.  We wouldn’t allow an unborn children to be killed at any point in their young lives, whether they could feel it or not.  On Father’s Day I would be remiss if I didn’t remind all fathers that our most important duty in life is to protect our children.

On June 19 of last year I felt compelled to remind the President of the magnitude of the killing that goes on in our country’s abortion mills every year.  The numbers are staggering, and so is the President’s refusal to lift a finger to stop the slaughter.

Mr. President:

What’s in a number?  The Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act protects unborn children 20 weeks old and older from the horror of abortion.  Ask yourself these questions: When did the countdown to 20 weeks start?  Was it at the moment of conception?  Does the determination that an unborn child is 20 weeks old confirm that it is a living human being that has been alive for 20 weeks?  If a child has been alive for 20 weeks, what possible legal or moral justification could there be for killing it at any point in its life, starting at the moment of conception?

One more question Mr. President:  Why is it only wrong to kill a child if it is capable of feeling the pain of being killed?   I’ll help you out since I’m pretty sure you don’t have access to your teleprompter on the rare occasion that you actually read a letter from an American citizen.  A child is a living human being from the moment of conception and is endowed by our Creator with the same right to life as you and I.  Engaging in the intentional killing of a child at any point in its life at any time after conception is not only a violation of the law of man, but of God’s law as well.  Short answer so even you can understand: Killing kids is wrong! Don’t do it!

Now that we have that out of the way, allow me to describe a brutally effective abortion technique your friends at Planned Parenthood are quite fond of.  It’s called saline amniocentesis and got its inspiration from none other than the Nazi concentration camps.

A syringe is inserted into the amniotic sac and up to 8 ounces of amniotic fluid is withdrawn.  The abortionist then injects a concentrated salt solution into the amniotic sac.  The salt solution burns the child’s skin and sears its lungs, inflicting indescribable pain that usually kills the child within an hour.  One to two days later the mother delivers the dead, shriveled body of her baby.  We’ve all had the experience of salt on a cut or scrape and know how it feels.  Imagine that pain over your entire body, including your lungs, until you die.  That’s how the greatest country on earth treats its unborn.

What’s in a number?  334,000 stories of pain and suffering, all ending in the death of a human being, all performed in the abortion mills of Planned Parenthood just last year.

Mr. President, one last question:  How many innocent children will you allow to be killed this year?
